About

​With more than 13 years’ experience in building and construction, including renovation, lifestyle blocks and architectural builds, James Neilson of JKN Construction takes pride in a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.

A Licensed Building Practitioner, James worked for Tony Page Builders on Waiheke Island for 8 years after completing his apprenticeship to a high standard.  He also has a Bachelor of Commerce and keen passion for travel and the outdoors.

James and the team at JKN Construction built a gorgeous pergola and garden deck for us in February 2018.  We were determined to have our project complete before the end of summer and James did not baulk at the idea, rather he successfully managed our project alongside 2 others so that we could have our timeline met.  He also consulted with us and helped us along the way as we were juniors when it came to figuring out exactly what we needed with design and structure.  James and his team are incredibly polite and courteous and show great respect for your home and property.  They are also incredibly patient - we have 2 toddlers who were determined to watch and ask questions and James and the team were just incredible with them.  We were more than pleased with the final result.  We love our new pergola and deck - thanks JKN Construction
